Title: Towards Intelligent Multimedia Interaction: Understanding Human Behaviors Using RGB-D Sensors
Abstract: To make machines intelligently interact with human beings, it is important for them to understand human behaviors, e.g., through their voices, facial/hand gestures and body actions, so that machines can better sense the intentions of humans, and communicate with them in a natural way. In this talk, I will discuss our recent work of sensing human behaviors using commodity RGB-D sensors, as well as the understanding of human intentions via observing their hand and body interactions with other objects. Potential applications in virtual/augmented reality, tele-operation, human-robot interaction, and video surveillance will also be discussed.
